Dr Wessel Strydom is a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon with almost 20 years’ experience in the field.
He qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Stellenbosch. During his studies he developed a special interest in surgery; in particular the surgical ability to restore and alter the human body – whether to improve its functioning or appearance.
He obtained his specialist degree as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in 1999 and set up his private practice in Stellenbosch the following year. He currently works at the Stellenbosch Mediclinic and also performs procedures at Somerset Surgery in Somerset West. His specific surgical interests are breast surgery, facial surgery and skin cancer treatments.
To stay up to date with the latest developments and techniques, he regularly attends congresses and workshops, expanding and enhancing his service offering. He will, however, only undertake a new procedure once he is convinced of its safety and efficacy, insisting that his patients always receive the best verifiable benefits from surgery.
When not working, he enjoys family time with his wife and three sons or indulging in one of his many hobbies: motorbiking, surfing, mountain biking, stargazing, drawing, scuba diving, winemaking, food and travelling.
